Rules and Regulations
- To keep to our vision, all students must participate in the curricular and extra-curricular activities of the school such as attendance of assemblies, classes etc.
- The official language of the school is English and French. It is therefore an offence to speak any other language within the school compound.
- It is an offence to climb over the school fence into or out of the school
- A student must belong to at least two clubs or societies in the school e:g. Debate, Drama, Press Club etc.
- In case of an emergency, parent (s) wishing to see their wards on a day other than the open/visiting day must seek permission from the Principal.
- It is an offence for students to disobey the constituted authority of the school i.e. staff and Prefects.
- Names of students who contravene these rules shall be recorded in the black book; any student whose name occurs in the book three times, such a student shall be spended.
Boarding rules and requirements
HOSTEL ETIQUETTES AND PROHIBITIONS
- The hostel and the dormitories are very respectable places for relaxation and rest. Silence should be strictly maintained.
- Privacy of person and their belongings should be strictly observed. Beds must be properly made with white bed sheets and pillow cases.
- Student must keep their corners and belongings clean and tidy.
- Early washing, singing, talking, and playing are prohibited in the hostel.
- Any sick student must report on time to the matron for quick medical attention.
- Use of phone is not allowed for student either in the hostel or on the school compound. Students are not allowed to bring or use phone set while in the school.
- There must be no stealing or fighting in the hostel.
Dinning Rules/Regulations
- No student shall come late to the dining hall.
- Students should not stay in the dining hall beyond the stipulated time for dining.
- All students must sit at appropriate tables while meals are taken.
- Fighting in the dining hall is prohibited.
- Noise making is equally prohibited.
- On no account shall food be taken out of the dining hall.
- The dining hall must be kept clean before and after meals are taken.
- All pots, plates, spoons, cups and other cutleries must be washed before leaving the dining hall
- No day-student is allowed into the dining hall.
- All food prefects must come into the dining hall 3minutes before other students and leave the dining hall 2minutes after every other student leaves.
- No dinner should be served in darkness. Lights must be switched on.
- All table-leaders must ensure that tables are kept clean after meals.
- No food collected should be thrown away by students.
- Food collected must be taken.
- Writing on the walls of the dining hall is prohibited.
- No student shall litter the dining hall or its surroundings.
- The dining hall must be locked after every meal.
- Tables and seats must always be well arranged.
- Sleeping in the dining hall is prohibited
- No writing materials (e.g. books) shall be taken into the dining hall.
- Sharing of plates, cups, spoons other and cutleries is prohibited.
- All waste materials (refuse) must be dropped in the waste baskets.
- Waste baskets must be emptied when due.
- Food must be served on equal basis except if a smaller portion is requested by a student.
- No student shall collect food more than once at a time.
- No junior student shall collect food on behalf of a senior student.
- Loss of cutleries must be reported to the food prefects (or food master) on time and be paid by the student.
- No student shall insult or quarrel with any cook.

Visiting Days
The management allows only one visit in a term, on a Saturday of any month within the term which shall be communicated to you.
Visiting time is 8 am - 5:30 pm. No visitor is allowed on the school compound after 6 pm.
- Students who persist in lingering or loitering with parent or visitor(s) after 6 pm shall risk going home for one (1) week suspension.
- Any intrusion and quarrelling with the security person(s) at the gate or any interaction with the boarding house or any student therein without due authorization shall attract one week suspension for the student concerned.
- Students should be kind and polite to all visitors when welcoming them into the school. They are to direct him/her to the principal's office or the matron/patron. If a visitor intends to see a student on a non-visiting day, please direct them to the principal or matron.
- Students who are expecting visitors on a visiting day would follow the normal time table for the day until such visitors arrive.
- No visitors are allowed into the hostel under any circumstance. Students who violate this rule will be required to undergo manual labour the day after.
- Reception of parents/guardians on visiting day must be within the school compound. No other venue is allowed.
Names of those to visit the student should be submitted to the school with their passports.
Unique students health
Students Health
In the near future, Unique Secondary School intends to build its own mini clinic to carter for both staff and students. However, for the present a retainer arrangement with a qualified private hospital is in place to meet students' medical needs.
Parents are strongly advised to give details of medical history of their children to the school management to enable the school handle the students better medically.
Unique Canteen/Shop
The college runs a school shop to cater for needs of the students as well as staff.
The tuck-shop is well-stocked with beverages, stationery, writing materials, snacks, etc. Since it is run by the school, the prices of items are quite affordable.
The shop is open at intervals (like break time, before dinner) to enable the students make their purchases. A sales assistant runs the shop on a full time basis.
Unique Sports and Recreation
Since, "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy", recreation in the college is of top priority to the college management. There are a number of recreational facilities in the college for the relaxation of the students in the college. There is a recreation room (for games like table tennis scrabble, Chess) for both the boys' and girls' dormitories, each fitted with cable TV facilities.

Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
Our View of ICT
ICT has come to stay. It has simplified and accelerated the daily business of mangers - including school managers - from planning to delivery of services. It means that for any good and reliable service delivery today, organizations must focus on their core activities while ICT must add value to help as a vital support to make operations more successful - easy, responsive, and optimal performance -
We at Unique Schools also, are not oblivious of the numerous offers of ICT to make management and delivery of services in schools easier and effective. We see ICT as a major cog for the realization of our mission and vision.
We are also aware of the ICT management implications such as financial cost and the challenges of integration but we have taken up the challenge to explore and exploit the advantages to improve teaching, learning, and pupils' achievements, both in ICT and using the ICT as a tool to achieve other goals.
